Mr. Partha Satpathy
Mr. Partha Satpathy joined the Indian Foreign Service in August 1990.
At Headquarters, presently, he was the Director-General (Joint Secretary) of the Latin America & Caribbean Division in the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). He was Joint Secretary (LAC) from March 2018. Before that Mr. Satpathy headed the States Division, coordinating federal matters, in MEA from January 2016 to March 2018.
Before joining Kyiv as Ambassador of the Republic of India to Ukraine on October 15, 2018, Mr. Satpathy was Ambassador of India to the Republic of Senegal with concurrent accreditation to the Republic of Cape Verde, Republic of Guinea Bissau and High Commissioner of India to the Republic of The Gambia from 2012-2015.
He has also served as Minister in the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations Offices in Geneva.
Mr. Satpathy has also served in the Embassy of India, Moscow; in the UN and Latin America Division of the Ministry of External Affairs and in the Embassy of India in Vienna, Brasilia and Lisbon.
Mr. Satpathy has a degree in B.Sc. Physics, with a Masters in Business Administration from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad followed by a Masters in Human Rights from the UK. His interests are in the area of Business and Human Rights, Corporate Social Responsibilities, Multilateral Diplomacy, Strategic Dynamics in the BRICS & IBSA regions and Intellectual Property rights. He enjoys outdoor sports activities including golf and cricket.
Mr. Satpathy speaks Portuguese, French and Spanish.
